Gameplay tips

Multiplayer Doom is about map flow. Weapons and armor sit on timers at map landmarks, so route your movement between them rather than toward opponents. Fight from health, not toward it: enter duels above 80 and disengage below 40, because the Rocket Launcher punishes low-health hubris instantly.

Strafe constantly. Doom's movement is binary and fast, and a player who changes direction on a beat is genuinely hard to lead with rockets. Practice strafe-running until it is unconscious; the speed boost changes every map's timings.

Learn the two or three showdown arenas on each map — rooms where fights always end up — and pre-position for them. In co-op modes, keep horizontal spacing so a single rocket splash cannot end two players at once.
