Game overview: Need for Speed: Underground 2
An open-world street-racing game about tuning cars, building reputation, and competing across an urban night scene.
Gameplay tips
Underground 2 is a night-city exploration game wrapped around racing genres: circuit, sprint, drag, drift, and URL track events. Exploration matters: find the hidden upgrades scattered around the free-roam map before committing build money, because free parts fund real progress.
Drift events reward throttle patience: initiate with a handbrake tap, hold the slide with steering, and feather gas to maintain angle without spinning. Circuit events reward clean lines; drag rewards gear-change timing at redline without over-revving.
Car builds should specialize: drift cars need angle and response, drag cars need launch and gearing, street circuits need balance. The visual customization is the series' heart — budget for it; the game famously judges your car before your driving.
