Brotato runs on tight twenty-second waves and build coherence. Pick a weapon archetype in wave one, and by wave five commit: every purchase should serve the same damage stat scaling (melee, ranged, elemental, or economic). Mixed builds feel varied and lose late.

Movement during waves matters as much as stats: the arena's crowd density punishes corner camping and rewards orbit patterns — circling the edge collecting pickups between engagements. Health regeneration and armor purchases pay off across all waves.

Between waves, shop discipline: prioritize stat consistency over rarity, and always check whether an item's downside contradicts your build (a ranged item hurting melee scaling, for instance). Runs end when coherence ends.
