MK9's browser build keeps the base roster's mechanics: block buttons, combo strings, and the X-ray meter. Learn one character's bread-and-butter — a jab starter into a safe special — before experimenting. Punishing blocked strings teaches more than any tutorial.

Meter management splits three ways (X-ray, ex-specials, breakers) and choosing badly loses matches: breakers save corner pressure situations, ex-specials extend combos, X-rays close out health leads. Read your meter the way a fighting game veteran reads health bars.

Against the AI's difficulty spikes, block low with occasional pokes, and punish jump-ins with uppercut timing. In versus play, learn characters at minimum: one aggressive rushdown and one zoning answer covers most matchup brackets you will meet casually.
