Defensively, contain with the press button while a second player closes passing lanes; sliding tackles concede fouls and cards unless perfectly timed. Keep a holding midfielder stationed; counterattacks through your vacated midfield are how leads evaporate.

Set pieces decide tight matches: learn two corner routines (near-post flick and far-post volley) and practice free kicks until curve direction is second nature. In the browser build's matches, patience converts more chances than dribbling heroics.
