Formula One 06 rewards braking discipline above everything. Learn each circuit's braking markers — a shadow, a curb, a distance board — and hit them consistently before chasing lap time. Consistency first: five clean laps tell you more than one heroic one.

Use the racing line assist off as soon as braking is stable; until then, keep it on and treat it as a teacher, not a crutch. Downforce settings change how the car feels in slow corners versus straights, so adjust per track rather than copying one setup.

In race scenarios, survive lap one. Contact in F1 costs wings, and wings cost seconds per corner. Defend with one move maximum, and pick overtakes where the exit favors you on the following straight.
