Most Wanted is two games stitched together: clean street racing and chaotic police pursuits. Race mode rewards learning the route, not the rivals: memorize the two or three shortcut entrances per circuit and practice entering them at speed without clipping walls.
Pursuits change everything. Break line of sight before you outrun — around buildings and through alleys — and reset your heat by disappearing rather than by distance. A pursuit boat (SUV) handles like a wall; hit it at angles, never head-on.
Upgrade in the order the game punishes you: handling when corners kill you, Nitrous when straights do, durability when pursuit rams do. The blacklist rivals escalate gradually, so save risky wagers for when your car genuinely beats the last one.
