About Shift at Midnight
A night-shift horror game where you must tell humans from doppelgangers at a lonely gas station.
Shift at Midnight puts you behind the counter of a remote gas station during the night shift. Customers keep coming, and some of them are not human — you have to spot the doppelgangers before letting them close.
Paying attention to small details is the key to survival. The browser build is an unofficial web port: loading can take a while, and a keyboard and mouse are recommended.

How to play Shift at Midnight in your browser

- Wait while the game files load. The first start can take from a few seconds to a few minutes depending on your connection; later starts are faster because the browser caches the files.
- Click inside the game window so it captures the keyboard and mouse, then switch to fullscreen (F11 or the host's fullscreen button).
- Open the in-game settings to adjust controls, graphics and sound. Progress is normally kept in your browser storage, so don't clear site data if you want to keep your saves.

What to expect from the browser version
The browser version of Shift at Midnight is an independent web project — a port, recompilation or fan remake — hosted on gn-math.dev. It is not an official release from Bun Muen, and MePlayable does not host any game files: we describe the game and link to the project.
Because the game runs inside a browser tab, some features of the 2024 original may be missing or work differently: online modes, cutscenes, saves, mods and graphics options depend on the build. If something doesn't work, check the host's own notes.
Requirements
A modern desktop browser — Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Opera or Safari 16+ — with WebAssembly and WebGL enabled, at least 4 GB of RAM and a stable connection for the first load. Hardware acceleration should be switched on in the browser settings.
If Shift at Midnight doesn't start
- Black screen or endless loading — update the browser, enable hardware acceleration and reload the page with Ctrl+F5.
- No sound — click inside the game window: browsers only allow audio after you interact with the page.
