Game overview: Terraria

A side-view sandbox adventure where exploration, crafting, building, and combat shape a procedurally generated world.
Gameplay tips
Terraria's early hours set the tone: build a base with walls, a workbench, and doors NPCs can path through, then dig down in straight mineshafts with rope and torches. Hearts, stars, and ores found early compound for the whole game, so treat the first nights as investment rounds.
Progression is gate-driven: defeat the Eye to unlock metals, the Wall of Flesh to unlock hardmode, and plan gear upgrades at each gate rather than skipping ahead. Sentry-free arenas — flat, layered platforms with camps around a boss arena — turn every major fight from chaos into choreography.
Exploration rewards preparation more than courage: bring platforms, ropes, and a recall item into every cave. The browser build keeps the loop intact, so the classic rule applies: the world gives back exactly the effort you structure into it.
