About RimWorld
A sci-fi colony simulator where a story-generating AI throws raids, plagues and mental breaks at your crash-landed survivors.
RimWorld (2018) by Ludeon Studios is a colony simulation driven by an AI storyteller. A handful of survivors crash on a frontier planet, and you assign them work — farming, cooking, building, research, medicine — while the storyteller decides when raiders, toxic fallout, heat waves or a lovesick colonist will test your base.
Every colonist has traits, skills, relationships and a mood that can snap under stress, which turns ordinary runs into memorable stories. The browser build on wasm.rip is an unofficial WebGL port: expect longer loading and lower performance than the PC game, and play with a mouse and keyboard.

How to play RimWorld in your browser
- Press Play in browser — the game opens on wasm.rip in a new tab.
- Wait while the game files load. The first start can take from a few seconds to a few minutes depending on your connection; later starts are faster because the browser caches the files.
- Click inside the game window so it captures the keyboard and mouse, then switch to fullscreen (F11 or the host's fullscreen button).
- Open the in-game settings to adjust controls, graphics and sound. Progress is normally kept in your browser storage, so don't clear site data if you want to keep your saves.
RimWorld controls
Default layout for this browser version. Keys can differ between builds, and most hosts let you rebind them in the settings. A USB or Bluetooth gamepad usually works too.
| Action | Key |
|---|---|
| Select units | Left click / Click and drag |
| Give orders | Right click |
| Move the camera | Screen edges / Arrow keys |
| Assign group | Ctrl + 1–9 |
| Zoom | Mouse wheel |
| Menu / pause | Esc |
What to expect from the browser version
The browser version of RimWorld is an independent web project — a port, recompilation or fan remake — hosted on wasm.rip. It is not an official release from Ludeon Studios, and MePlayable does not host any game files: we describe the game and link to the project.
Because the game runs inside a browser tab, some features of the 2018 original may be missing or work differently: online modes, cutscenes, saves, mods and graphics options depend on the build. If something doesn't work, check the host's own notes.
Requirements
A modern desktop browser — Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Opera or Safari 16+ — with WebAssembly and WebGL enabled, at least 4 GB of RAM and a stable connection for the first load. Hardware acceleration should be switched on in the browser settings.
If RimWorld doesn't start
- Black screen or endless loading — update the browser, enable hardware acceleration and reload the page with Ctrl+F5.
- No sound — click inside the game window: browsers only allow audio after you interact with the page.
- Lag or low FPS — close other heavy tabs and programs, then lower the resolution or graphics settings in the game.
- The site doesn't open — the host may be temporarily down or blocked in your region. Try again later or use another project link on this page.
